Inaugurated in June of 1959, the Côte-Sainte-Catherine lock is located on the South Shore Canal and is a part of the St. Lawrence Seaway. Unigesco built four new buildings to accommodate electrical rooms. The electrical, civil engineering, and reinforcement work covered a total area of approximately one square kilometre. Construction efforts were managed through excellent coordination between Unigesco and the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation, to ensure the day-to-day operations at the lock would not be affected.
