Saint-Lambert Lock

Progress: Ongoing project

Groupe Unigesco is honored to contribute to the modernization of the Saint-Lambert Lock No. 1, a key component of the St. Lawrence Seaway. This project, commissioned by the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC), aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of maritime infrastructure critical to North American trade.

The scope of work includes:

  • Relocation of electrical equipment: Moving electrical systems out of existing galleries to optimize accessibility and maintenance.
  • Construction of four new technical buildings: Building modern structures dedicated to electrical systems, designed to meet contemporary safety and performance standards.

Site mobilization began on mid-June, 2024, with most of the work expected to be completed by December 20, 2024. Final stages, including building waterproofing, paving, and landscaping, will continue into the spring of 2025.

This project reflects Unigesco's commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions, strengthening the critical infrastructure of the St. Lawrence Seaway, a vital corridor for freight transportation in North America.
