Unigesco will build the Sanaaq Center

Montreal January 26, 2023- The City of Montreal Council meeting recommended the awarding of the Sanaaq Center construction project to Groupe Unigesco on January 23, 2023. This represents the final stage of approval, so construction work can begin in the next few weeks.

The entire Unigesco team is proud to collaborate with the City of Montreal for the realization of this major project which will include a performance and exhibition hall, a library and socio-community spaces.

The Sanaaq in a few figures

Construction contract with Unigesco Group: $35,776,000

Contractual execution times: 18 months

The Sanaaq Center is a mixed construction that will include:

•  library of 84,000 documents (books, games, instruments, digital devices);
• a playroom for toddlers;
• a 250-seat multipurpose performance hall;
• 3 multifunctional rooms, one of which is dedicated to children;
• a community café;
• a culinary lab and a music/digital lab;
• more than 400 seats;
• a space reserved for the Peter-McGill neighborhood table;
• 91 hours of operation, 7 days a week.
